Solving your problem is our business, that’s the Winter Way.
Winter Equipment began with a problem Kent Winter saw on city plow trucks: cutting edges that wore out fast and unevenly. His answer started as a model made of popsicle sticks. In 2019, the company he founded marked 30 years of solving problems like that one for the crews who keep roads clear.
Here are the biggest days along the way.
Kent Winter builds his first model of the PlowGuard out of popsicle sticks in his garage.
Winter Equipment is founded on October 17 and files with the State of Ohio.
Operations move to Joseph Lloyd Parkway, still our headquarters today.
The first company truck arrives: a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500 HD.
The System concept is born: blades, guards and hardware built to work together.
A CAD and engineering department is added.
A second building, on Western Parkway, is bought for sales and finished goods.
The company turns 25.
The team grows to nearly 50 employees.
Winter Equipment marks 30 years in business.
Over those 30 years, Winter Equipment grew from a single plow guard into plow systems, plow guards, plow accessories and road maintenance products. New ideas and input from customers drove that growth.
By our 30th anniversary in 2019, the work behind those products added up to some big numbers.
Kent Winter marked the milestone by thanking the people behind it:
“We would like to recognize and thank all of our employees, customers and partners that have played a role in helping shape Winter Equipment into the company it is today. As we reflect on these past 30 years, we find ourselves even more focused on our vision of being a valuable partner to our customers.”
