The quick way: use the fit tool

Start with our product fit tool. The questions it asks depend on the kind of plow you run.

• Contractor plows

  For contractor plows, fit comes down to the brand, model and size. Pick yours, and the tool shows the edges that fit. You can also shop by manufacturer, with dedicated pages for Western, Fisher, BOSS, SnowEx, Arctic, Pro-Tech and Metal Pless plows.

• Highway plows

  Most highway plows use the Standard Highway Punch (SHP), a standard bolt-hole pattern. Every SHP cutting edge fits every SHP plow, so the only fit detail you need is the plow’s overall width. That’s why the tool asks about your roads and how you plow instead. Its answer isn’t about fit. It’s about which edge is right for your routes and road conditions.

Measure your blade

If your plow isn’t listed, or you’re not sure what you have, measure the blade that’s currently installed. Here’s what to record before you contact us.

Length

End to end, in feet.

Height

Top edge to bottom edge, in inches.

Thickness

In inches.

Gauge

From the top of the blade to the center of the bolt holes. Common gauges are 1, 1-1/2, 2 and 4 inches.

Punch pattern

From the end of the blade to the first hole center, then from each hole center to the next.

Hole type

Punched holes for carriage bolts, or countersunk holes for plow bolts.

Gauge matters most if you plan to add guards or a cover blade, because they bolt through the same holes. The hole type also determines which bolts you need, and using the wrong plow bolt is a real risk. Note the plow manufacturer and part number too, if you can find them on the plow. They aren’t required, but they help our specialists confirm the fit. Our snow plow glossary explains each of these terms if any are new to you.

Tell us your blade type

Next, tell us what kind of cutting edge you run now, such as steel, rubber or carbide. If you run carbide, we always recommend pairing it with a cover blade. Tell us if you need one, and we’ll match it to your carbide edge.

Measuring motor grader blades

Motor grader blades are measured the same way as plow blades. Record the length, height, thickness and hole pattern of the blade on your grader. Then add the grader’s make and model so we can match the right replacement.
