Vulcan^® Cutting Edge

The Vulcan^® blade is a 5/8″-thick cutting edge made of through hardened boron steel. It replaces the OEM’s 1/2″-thick, high-carbon steel blade and has a wear factor that’s three times that of the factory’s steel. With its extra thickness and superior strength, the Vulcan^® blade provides unsurpassed performance without cracking and breaking.

PlowGuard Jr. Guards

The Vulcan^® V-Plow System comes with a pair of PlowGuard Jr. guards on each end of the cutting edge. The Department of Transportation-rated guards protect the blade from uneven and premature wear. They include welded-on curb protection extensions on each end, depending on the application.

The PlowGuard Jr. is constructed of heavy plate steel with more than 9 cu. in. of Winter^® Impervium^® Carbide along the complete length of the bottom edge. Our proprietary, patented weld technology increases impact resistance, ductility and wear life while providing the same high strength as tungsten carbide.

Vulcan^® Nose Guards

Our Nose Guards are 1″-thick, 100% cast steel that are double the thickness of the factory’s 1/2″-thick, formed steel nose pieces and have 3 times the wear life. The super-high-strength castings are made with a proprietary steel alloy that wears like the teeth of an excavator’s bucket.
